Spider crabs crawl through their 5,200 gallon tank at the Sea Life aquarium in Timmendorfer Strand, northern Germany. Some species of the marine crabs reach a leg span of nine feet or more.

Some animals, like these young crabs and some juvenile fish, can live unharmed among a jellyfish’s venomous tentacles. There, protected from prey, they feed on jellyfish leftovers like zooplankton or larval fish and remove parasites from their accommodating hosts.

A migrating red crab is pictured on a golf course on on Christmas Island, some 1600 miles north west of Perth in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The annual migration sees millions of red crabs swarm across the island in the hope of making it to the sea. The crabs spend several painstaking days crawling to the ocean, which can be as far as 9km away…
